How to SSH into your Google Cloud Instance?

It’s always been a concern for newbies to have some problems connecting to the Instance via SSH from Terminal or Command prompt and also sending emails from a virtual machine instance.

I had a hard time myself, trying to connect to virtual machine via SSH from my Terminal and getting mail server to work efficiently. I spent a couple of moons trying to troubleshoot the problem and finding the solutions.

Unsurprisingly, there are thousands of articles and solutions explaining the how-to of working with your instances running on Google cloud. It appears that I committed a mistake of not going through the documentation beforehand.

You should know that by the default design some services are blocked and ports are not listening in virtual machines as they are susceptible to a large amount of abuse.

First off you’ll need to sign up for Google Cloud and claim your $300 Credit for 12 months by clicking here

There are a few steps you’ll have to take in order to be squared away but the entire process should take around 10 minutes.
